School Receptionist and Office Administrator 
Scale 4 - Point 7 to 11 - £24,294 pro-rata (actual salary £20,156) to £25,979 pro-rata (actual salary £21,554) (depending on experience) 
Hours - 35 per week (8.30am – 4.00pm), term-time + 2 weeks (40 week contract) Start Date: 3rd September 2024 

Here at Horizon Education Trust we are entering an exciting time as the realisation of our special area school in Alconbury Weald, Prestley Wood Academy, is on track to open its doors in September 2024.

 
Prestley Wood Academy is seeking a Receptionist/Office Administrator for our school office. The successful candidate will be part of the admin team and help to ensure the high standards within our special school. 

The main purpose of the role is to provide timely and effective high standards of office and secretarial practice with the day to day administration within the school office as allocated by the School Secretary. To support the School Secretary to achieve and meet the objectives and priorities for the school in relation to administration and to assist with the planning, administration and maintaining of pupil Education Health Care Plans. 


It is important to us that you have personal attributes and can share our school values within a caring special school working environment. You will be able to communicate with others effectively in a team with excellent organisational ability and resilience to work to planned deadlines. 


You should have proven experience of working in an office / reception environment, ideally within a school. Good keyboard and word processing skills are essential. 

Qualifications required: 

  •     Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (A – C in English and Maths)
  •     Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  •     Digital communication skills.
  •     Typing and clerical skills (proven at interview)
  •     3 years or more relevant administrative experience
  •     Ability to create and write letters and templates for business purposes
  •     Willingness to learn new ICT systems when required
